Churchyard

Burials in the Churchyard at Hoar Cross are subject to the permission of the Trustees of the Meynell Church Trust. Because of the limited space available, this is normally restricted to permanent residents of the Parish of Hoar Cross with Newchurch and members of the Parochial electoral roll. There is also a churchyard at Newchurch. Burials may be either of a coffin or a cask containing ashes. There are strict rules governing memorials, laid down by the Chancellor of the Diocese of Lichfield, and permission must always be obtained in writing before erecting any memorial stone.

To enquire about a funeral in church or committal in the churchyards, please contact the Priest in Charge or Churchwardens. Copies of the churchyard regulations and the form to request permission to erect a memorial can be obtained from the Church Warden.
